I am looking for a Speed/Gas/Volts digital gauge for my Yamaha outboard. The motor on my 200 CCP is a 1994. Anything in the 90's should work I assume. I just wanted to see if anyone had an old one that was in decent shape they wanted to get rid of. I will pay shipping as well depending on the price. The ones on ebay are very pricey
Thanks!

JD,
I'm in Italy right now and heading to France. I'll be home (I hope) at the end of the month. I'm fairly certain I kept my old gauges when I repowered. They're in excellent shape but.....
If memory serves, Yamaha changed the wiring hookups in 94 so.....
If you can wait just a little, you can possibly get what you need.
Here's what I'm thinking.
Rick bought new gauges several years ago but they were the 94 series type ( look identical but wired different).
IIRC his trim didn't work so I was going to give him mine. He in turn could then get you the proper gauge for your year. I realize I'm speaking for him but I'm guessing that will work.
Hang on till I get back in the States and I'll get back with you.

Thanks Bob! The previous owner bought the 1994 Yamaha brand new and had both gauges. Not sure why, but the speed gauge was removed at some point in time and something else was there. Not sure what happened to the original gauge?? It should be the same gauge that I had on my 1999 Yami OX66 that was on my 222 CCP. I don't need the gauge for the speed, but need it for the gas level and volts. I could get a small gas gauge but that would require some modification on the panel which would take some time.
Enjoy your trip and I will wait to hear from you or Rick or both. Thanks again!

That works for me. I can take pics of the one I have to make sure it's what you need John.
CB, hope you fit through the body scan at the airport after all that pasta you're consuming :hee20hee20hee: :62: Just kidding - be safe

Thanks Rick :thumright: If it has a part number on it if you don't mind send it as well. If it doesn't, no worries. I would think if it's mid or late 90's it will work.
I didn't realize that they changed in 1994. Thanks for that info Bob :thumright:

Thanks for the info but I don't have one to recondition. It was removed from boat when I purchased it.

They also sell reconditioned yam gauges

Got back yesterday but haven't check for my gauges yet.
In the mean time, here is what I was getting at on the gauge model year.

I believe Rick's trim LCD didn't work because of the two wire/three wire difference between the 93 and older Yamaha motors. It appears that Yamaha switched to the additional wire in 94. Anyway, I'll check when I get home from work tonight and post. Then we can get the ball rolling.
More to follow.

JD,
These are my gauges.

They are pre-1994 and will work on Rick's 92 Yamaha. I'll get them packed up this weekend and shipped out early next week. I'm not sure if Rick is back from RVing but I'll guess he will get you the speedo gauge fairly quickly. I was intending to bequeath them to Rick when I died but hopefully that ain't too soon so....
You can work out any shipping between you two. I'm good on my end. All I ask is that you speak kindly of me on the other board.
Good luck JD. It's always good to hear from you. :thumright:

Thanks Bob! So I just want to understand this. Your 2 pictured are going to Rick, and then Rick and I will work something out on the Speed gauge he currently has?
At any rate, Thanks for looking out for me Bob :thumright:

That is correct JD. The trim gauge (my old one ) is what he needs but the speedo with also work for him. They will match his originals perfect and are in great shape. He will get his trim to function correctly and it appears he will share his speedo with you.
Win win for both you guys. Just requires a little extra work for Rick but removal isn't a major project.
Good luck. :thumright:

I'll get in the boat this weekend and get the lower panel down so I can remove the gauge once Bob's gets here. I will have to test it out too and see if the trim works. If it works then I have a working set of gauges and will work out getting the gauge to you. The part number is on the box in the link that CB posted above. Does it look like the one you are thinking you need?
