Title: Aquasport 200 striper - 20 inch
Post by: bkuhles109 on August 01, 2018, 06:58:43 PM
I am having a issue on what size outboard I should go with on my striper 200!
I had a Yamaha 115 4 stroke, and I would stand in the back of the boat and the top transom would have like 6-8 inches till the water would go over (never went over) I was just wondering if I should just go two stroke 115, and just go with less weight or would it be fine for a Yamaha 150 2 stroke or look for a 115 4 stroke. And my model boat has the low transom style so I was just seeing if someone on here has the same boat and just want to see what y’all thought ?

The model is pretty sensitive to weight and it's not abnormal to get wet feet if a couple big people step in the aft at the same time.
Check the catalog (in the gallery) for the HP rating and see if you can find an engine above 115 in the least weight.

My options I think are a Johnson 150 ocean runner, Yamaha 115 2 stroke, or a Yamaha 114 4 stroke.

Take a look at the Mercury 150 3.0L four stroke as an option.

I got a Yamaha 115 2 stroke mint condition! Looks brand new! If I ever upgrade prob going to be a Yamaha 150 4 stroke with a raised transom!
