Hi All,
I am hoping that you've already heard of this by now - I heard about it on an RV site I visit.
Anyway, it has to do with plastic handled extinguishers and goes back boo-koo years.
Here is the site that explains the recall. I checked my boats - 1 out of 2 was on recall and I checked my RV and 2 of 2 on recall.

Call them and they take your info and then they send you a replacement extinguisher in a box inside of a box. You send the affected one back in the box inside the box and attach the prepaid tag to the box (over the original one) and take to Fedex drop off. Simple and free. The new extinguishers all have metal tops and handles and the nozzles are much more stout.

I have already revived two replacement extinguishers. Non of the extinguishers on my boats were effected but one in my house and one in my truck was. The replacement extinguishers are nice. I just filled out the online form and submitted it. The replacement extinguishers come via FedEx with instructions how how to return your old one and a return label in the box. You just put your old one in the new extinguisher box and then place it back in the shipping box with the new label. Call FedEx and they come pick it up. Easy Peasy
I will tell you this did open my eyes to checking on my extinguishers more often.

I called in to check the models I had and the oldest one was recalled. The woman took all my info and told me a replacement was on the way but I have yet to see anything. Been about a month now. guess I'll try the online system.

It took about a month and then all the extinguishers arrived. Patience grasshopper ;-)
