Title: 2015 Octoberfest - 10/9-10/15
Post by: GoneFission on June 15, 2015, 06:02:20 PM: Put it on your calendar - October 9-10 will be the 2015 Aquasport Octoberfest at Oak Island, NC! We already have some folks confirmed, but please let us know if you are planning to be there. It's going to be another great year of fishing, fun, and fellowship with other Aquasport folks - see you there!!!

Post by: gman 82 aquasport on June 17, 2015, 10:18:39 PM: I should be able to get there this year, the 30th anniversary trip starts the following weekend :06:, besides it may be the last time my boat gets to be seen by members here. The plan is to have it on the market this fall(already have 2 people interested). Saving a few $$$ up now to add to it to try and find a late 90's Aqua 225 or 245, can't help it , I like the euro transom, or find an older one already re-done with a bracket..Will advise on here when the shopping starts in case anyone here knows of one for sale, going to try and find something with a 4 stroke or at least a fuel injected 2 stroke..Going to try and stay with the Aquasport brand, but have also been looking at some others( found a great deal on a Cape Horn, but timing is wrong).

We will be fishing Friday and Saturday, with Friday night as steak night and Saturday night is the BIG seafood fest! :coolth:

Wed-Thurs-Fri-Sat look great for fishing! Hope to see everyone at the 2015 Aquasport World Championship Fishing Reunion! :woohoo:

Title: Cancelled! 2015 Octoberfest - 10/9-10/15
Post by: GoneFission on October 05, 2015, 11:06:06 AM: Just got a call from the Oak Island folks - the Caswell Beach Road (the road to the beach house) is closed with 3' of water over the pavement at the south end. They are expecting 2"-5" of rain today and more tomorrow. This will result in a total of about 20" of rain! :shocked: Check out the NWS rain totals:

Scott and I have talked it over, and there is no need to go out and try to fish this weekend - there will be so much fresh water and sediment in the water that we probably won't even find bait. So we are making the call now to cancel/postpone this year's Octoberfest/Reunion... :c023: Hate to do it, but we don't know what conditions are going to be by the end of the week, and it just makes sense to cancel now rather than wait until the last minute.

Maybe we do something later in the year, but the event this weekend is officially cancelled! :03:
