Title: New 222 build

The back ground,
I have been lurking for a while now and am excited to finally be able to post here. I bought this boat 4 months ago and final got it home. It was sitting for those 4 months at a well known shop in Tampa (out of respect I won't mention the name), just to find out I was slammed and almost no work was done. What was done was done wrong and terribly. At that point I angirly took the boat and here we are.

The boat is a 74 and has a new floor and full transom. When I got it home I realized to top cap was mostly original and the bow coring was shot. I decided to cut a hatch there and use it as a anchor locker. I will be posting some pics of the progress. We are also putting supports under the whole cap as well as closing off the transom cavity.

The sole gives away the rebuilder. :(
Best to seal the heck out of that plywood.

No problem, I'm not sure why Safari doesn't show the img links - weird.
I talked to one of the developers of the gallery software and he told me that most mobile displays, to include what we're seeing, are "dumbed down" displays to get them to fit on a mobile device. They won't modify it but I will check and see if there is anything I can figure out myself.

We got the transome cover glassed in yesterday and it came out great! Sorry for no pics at this point :( also got the top cap supports sealed with 1.5oz and almost ready to glass in the boat.

Post by: gran398 on December 29, 2014, 10:33:19 PM: She's gonna run a bit bow heavy with the plywood weight forward. Which isn't a bad thing on a 22-2. You should be able to easily adjust with trim after the hole shot.

Sorry about trouble with the builder. That's been the MO lately. You aren't alone.

Post by: RSZELC on March 27, 2016, 08:01:30 AM: Freakin hammerhead, typical. I didn't get my boat out of there and will be years fixing all the disgusting work. First thing I did when I got it home(the next day) was grind all the gel-kote off the floor and reglass the floor. Thank god I did the stringer work. Front hatch so bowed you couldn't put hinges on it. Had to kerf cut and reglass that and don't dare stand on the forward hatch for fear it may fall into the bottom of the boat. Wasn't going to put this up but every time I touch that boat I find a new mess. No smiley face
