My fuel indicator works sometimes as well as the live well pump. Power is at the switch for the live well pump. I have not figured out the anything yet for the fuel indicator. After reading previous post it seems there is no true wiring diagram. So I am stuck, can anybody point me in the right direction.
Thanks Ron

Check the ground wire connections carefully for corrosion. What you describe sounds like a bad connection at the bus bar/terminal strip.
Good luck!

Swamp, your fuel gauge will get it's ground (as well as it's 12V+) from the tach. So you need to get under the helm and make certain all the nuts on the posts on the back of the gauge are tight. After that, I would do a continuity check between the ground on the tach and the ground on the fuel gauge, as well a check between the purple wire on the tach (IGN power) and the lead running to the "I" position on the fuel gauge. This will tell you if the gauge is getting power or not. Even though fuel gauge readings work on "resistance to ground", they still are electric gauges, so they need power. The pink wire which runs to the "S" position is the sender lead off the fuel sender in the tank.
Once you have verified you have 12V running to the gauge, then we can go further...

Thanks for the suggestions,
Will pursue today after work. Two other questions:
1. Where might the bus bar/ grd terminal be located ?
2. Due to some physical issues, I might need to put a deck access plate on the front of the console.
Any thoughts on the access plate?
Thanks for the help in advanceRon

Ron, there should be a ground bus under the helm as well. It may be part of a fuse block, depends on whether your switch panel has breakers or not...

My Stripper has circuit breakers, when looking under the helm did not see any terminal strips, but run out of time yesterday. Also today will clean all the contacts on the ign switch as they are nasty. Will look again today after work. Have not yet had a chance to get access plate for front of console. Thanks again for your help
