Does anyone know how to connect a Garmin GPS to a Mercury Vessel View system?

I know early Vessel Views had 0183 input leads, I believe the more current ones have 2K leads, but SmartCraft has always been a proprietary language Merc has used, with limited interfacing in both 0183 and 2K protocol...
