Title: Gel coat repair before bottom painting.
Post by: Mullady76 on April 02, 2014, 10:56:48 AM
I'm in process of removing 30+years of old bottom paint from my 200 CCP and I'm finding lots of chipped / damaged gel coat under it.  What is the best thing to use to fix this damage?  I have some left over West epoxy and 404 filler from when I fixed  the rot around the drain plug. I also have a can of USC Duraglass filler. These repairs are going to be barrier coated then bottom painted so I don't have to worry about matching the original gel coat.
Thanks, Sean

Epoxy makes a good water barrier so you should be just fine doing it that way.
