I'm looking for some for the new tank.
Anybody use this stuff - any suggestions of suppliers or any direction of products to stay away from?

Have used Tarset under bottom paint on a steel hull. Don't know about this brand but it's a place to start.

Seadog,
They sell it at Fiberglass Coatings Inc. in St. Pete. The problem is, I think, they only sell in large quantities. It is best to split it up with a few people.

Thanks Jim!
Wilson - just called FGCI, they said they stopped carrying the stuff there recently. They referred me to Gen-Mar Marine - they stopped carrying it -they referred me to another place and - guess what? - they stopoped carrying it too.
I know its around - I'll find some. I know it's a two part product, just wanted to see if anyone had good or bad experiences with it.

I used it on my rebuild. The stuff stinks like hell. Sandblast, chemically etch and roll it on. 3 coats. No bad experience except it smells terrible.

Perhaps you can buy some from a boat yard. Try yards which handle commercial steel hulls.
Maybe the enviro nuts have decided it's a no-no... like red lead.

I have heard that sherwin williams, PPG or other paint supply stores can get it as well but have not verified this. I'll be replacing my tank soon, so I'll be in the market for some coal tar or other coating.

Check with your tank vendor. They may offer a coating option.
