Title: Wiper Blade Length 225 EX
Post by: capt.warren on May 07, 2013, 05:00:47 PM
Does anyone knowthe lengths for the wiper blade and wiper arm on a 1995 225 Explorer? I can take a measured guess but I would like to be certain.

Warren

Man Warren, that is a stretch!  If no one has the wiper option on their Explorer, either 225 or 245/250, could be anybodies guess.  IIRC, the wiper motor was mounted below the windshield.  Measure from the motor shaft to the center of the windshield by the inboard frame.  That should give you arm length.  Since the wiper may have "parked" against that same frame, measure the height of the frame at that point, leaving off perhaps an inch both top and bottom to accomodate the swing of the blade.  That should give you the blade length...

Hope this helps!

Simple stuff Warren.

The wiper blade on my 210 is 16" and the actual arm is 18" from center of wiper motor shaft to attachment nut.

OK then,
You tell me the distance between the inside face of your transom door (the thing you swing open to go out on you Euro Peenin' transom) to the back of the storage/cooler face behind the seat (passenger side).

Guessin' anywhere from 69"-80".

Humor me on this and I'll tell you my thoughts.

Thanks for the info CB. I'm not quite clear on what measurement you asked for but I got 62".

I was just measuring my 245 for a cockpit shade.  From the back corner of the hard top the the inside of the transom wall is 96"

CW,
This may be hard to visualize but,

Take the measurement from the outside "cooler compartment" face (there is a lid on top with the seat/pedestal forward) parallel to the rod holders, to your inside face of the transom. I believe you have a walk thru door in that area but that's just for a reference.

Hopefully this makes sense as to where to measure.

Personally, I think the blade measurements will work on your boat. What I'm trying to ascertain is the dimension (length) of your cockpit between those two spots. I have a theory I'm trying to prove (at least to myself).

Thanks in advance. :salut:

62 inches is what I measured from the transom door to the aft face of the cooler lid behind the port seat.

As to the wiper arm/blade lengths...I ordered the parts and will install tomorrow. I had an idea and I am tryin to avoid having to return parts.

Thank you to all for your replies and info!!!
