In May I bought a 1983 246 EF and have slowly but surely been adding to it. I would like to get a Bimini top for it as it had one at one time, The only problem is I can't seem to find one that would make use of existing mounting hardware. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

You can buy a similar frame at a surplus shop and then have a local canvas guy make the canvas and fit the frame. Or get a canvas guy to to the whole deal for some more $$. It's very hard to find an OEM bimini in the color you want - sorry. :16:

Mine is fixed mounted with the telescoping poles securing the rear. I wanted the top to mount this way for storage while trailering. The original mounted like yours except it was a fixed pivot rather than slider mount. You can still use the sliders and eliminate the tele poles and just use straps on all four tiedowns. You'll need a different (swivel mount) for the slider function but it's all very doable.
Are the frames and material top grade? No, but I've had mine for some time (this photo is from 2012) and it has held up well and does what it was intended to do. It has stretched out some so it isn't as taut as it once was (but who is). You will need to know how wide it is between the sliders and how long you want the top (front to back). You assemble the frame and covering at home so again, the frame isn't the heaviest gauge and is in several pieces. I believe they offer stainless as well as the standard aluminum.
Just another option that has a good price point and has (for me anyway) held up quite well.
