Title: Kicker Motor Mounting on Euro Transom
Post by: meanjean on April 04, 2014, 01:24:16 AM
In the process of picking up a 2002 AS Explorer 225.
Looking for pictures, mount brand/type and input on mounting a 10-15hp trolling motor on the transom.
Any help would be great.

Circlehooked has your same model and has a kicker on the back.  He'll be around soon.

Thanks, the second link gave me a picture from Circle Hook that had a clear shot of a kicker on a Euro transom.  Maybe have one made out of aluminum also, more of a rigid set up?  I have used those brackets and its tough getting the kicker up sometimes when your bobbing around the ocean.  Plus with the euro transom its pretty far back there.
I was looking at getting a 15-20 hp with e-start and trim.  Ill keep looking around for ideas.

This is the unit I am using for mounting a Yamaha T25 on the back of my 290. Very heavy duty, and you can get a wireless remote to control from anywhere on the boat. Good Luck.

Sorry I'm late to the party, I've had that bracket on my boat since 02 and it's holding up real well and my 15 is on the heavy side, the key is to keep the moving parts lubed up for easy operation, if you need any more pics or have any questions just ask, happy to help if I can.

And my motor is a 15 Yamaha four stroke high thrust model, it's meant to be put on sail boats, I get 6-8 mph out of it depending on boat load and seas, also with the 4 stroke you can tie right into you existing fuel line, just T it off with a selector switch.

That's a nice bracket but out of my budget right now.

Ill keep the page marked in case I fall into some money.
Thanks

Any close up pics would be great, placement on the transom (how high it was mounted etc) would be great.  I want a 15hp on mine so if its working for you sounds like this is what I need.

Found this mount and really like it.  Even shows it on a Euro transom.  If it works on the Stripper think of a reason it wouldn't work on the AS transom?

Although this is an old/expired topic I have the same issue. Want to mount a 9.9 kicker on a 2000 225 Explorer with Euro transom. The links to the pics of the same installation do not function and result in a 404 error. Should I start a new thread or is this an acceptable venue?
I intend to use a motor with tilt/trim and utilize one of the remote-control steering units.
Any pictures of a similar installation, advice, suggestions etc. are welcome.
Planning now and will complete the project in the next month.
Thanks
