A few air bubbles to fix
-
Two layers of 1708 inside the 2" lip of the old transom to build it up level with remaining layers. Three layers over that tabbed at 4", 8", and 12". Next step is to cut the coosa is there an easy way to "stencil" the current shape of the transom?
-
Good progress.
Before you get to the next step you might consider adding a PVC pipe to the transom before you move the low point too far forward.
Here is a link to where I explain the thought of the PVC pipe

Here is a link to where I show what is actual problem

Here is a link to Hawgleg's rebuild that shows the PVC pipe installation to keep a drain at the new low point of the boat

Also, when you take a picture with your phone try to remember to hold the phone horizontal so the lens is to the left. That will make the pic orientation marker correct for forums. I rotated the pics in your gallery.
-
Thanks Rick yeah I realized the phone thing after! I plan on putting the pvc in today or tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder

Getting there!
-
Looks good keep progress going. How much foam did you end up using in your stringers? Hope I ordered enough. What size tank did you end up getting ? Good job
-
I hope you allowed 2% for the gas tank to grow once it gets gasoline in it. That's 2% in every direction. Progress looks good.
-
I forget the exact amount of foam used but it was around 800$ worth. And the tank is a 55 Gallon tank from Moeller. Thanks Rick it’s still just sitting on top of the foam. What are the consequences of not allowing the expansion space?
-
They say the tank could crack or crack the surrounding area.
-
Anyone know if a Bobs 14inch offfset jackplate would work? Not a huge fan of the cost of a Porta-Bracket.....
-
The problem with a jack plate is they don't raise up enough for you to tilt the engine up and over a full transom.
-
I looked at that option when I did mine but ended up finding a used porta bracket instead. I was able to clean it up, replace a few things and wire it up for less than the cost of the 14" jackplate. Bob's also makes additional spacers if you need a little more clearance but that additional cost just made the porta a better choice for me.
-
Thanks Mike I think I’m going with a porta bracket.

That Powerpole seems taller than the garage door
-
Boat is looking good. Love the colors. That thing will fly with that 200. I’ll be interested in a performance report. I considered the Merc v6 for my boat, but went with the tried and true 150.
-
Yeah im most curious about how it performs too its about two weeks away from hitting the water I will report back soon!
