 I replaced the drain hoses on the cock pit drains , in both cases the hoses were dry rotted and the hose clamps had rotted and fallen off. The bilge pump hose was trash and needed to be replaced , I am going to locate and install two drain connections on the outside hull as advised.

 I test ran the engine on a portable fuel tank and it ran great , I will be inspecting , cleaning and replacing the fuel hoses into and out of the installed fuel tank.

 I have had a lot of electrical gremlins as of late and found the wiring to be a mess for the lights . I removed all light wiring and am installing new . These will be red for positive and black for ground , as I have found many colors on the same wire. There must have been several patch jobs and quick fixes during the old girls life. I have installed new fuse holders in the control panel and labeled each wire for future reference.

 I also found that the small black with yellow stripe wasps love the transom area !

Hello to everyone , I have been busy with work and family as of late but recently got back to the boat and the cock pit drain problem. I work in the power industry and had an idea to limit water flow into the cock pit while launching or a lot of weight is in the stearn of the boat.
 I ordered 2 PVC check valves and placed the as close to the outboard drain as I could. This would prevent water coming in and allow it to drain if any accumulation occured . One note when installing make sure the flow (arrow) is in the outboard direction or they will hold water in the cock pit.

 I tested them out today and they worked great , all the items were purchased from McMaster Carr and cost less than $55.00. The items I used were (2) 1 " check valves PN 6274T74 (4) 1" hose connectors PN 5218K87 , 6 ' Hose PN 5238K778 . I reused the S/S hose clamps since I had previously replaced them.
 I chose the reinforced hose due to location , the hose connectors need to be threaded as well as the valves. These items may be available locally but due to my location I had to order them.

  I have only had this modification installed for a couple of days but the first testing went well . I'll keep anyone posted that is interested as time goes on.
