My dad went to the local Wal-Mart, got the V-500 Attwood bilge pump for like $13, screwed it to where the old one used to be in the spot right in front of the transom, underneath the pop-out-inspection plate and for the past 3 years, it has been pumping our bilge dry.  It is nice because we can leave it on/forget it is running because it is a manual pump and when we shut it off it still works because the bearings are sealed and don't need water to cool them.  One tough little pump and for the money has been working quite well.  I used the cheap Rule's and they wouldn't last for some reason.
