Engine idle

I have a Johnson J175pxsnf 2002 after 15 minutes running the idle isn’t dropping down I just changed out both thermostats and the same thing it’s running around 1000 rpm when working it drops to 800-850 is it something with quick start, shift cable . I had it tuned last year no problem now this is happening
