Cabin door hatch needed for 230 explorer.
« on: March 07, 2022, 10:50:09 AM »
I have a 1993 230 explorer.  I bought the boat several years ago and it had a chip missing out of the top hatch of the cabin door. Since then the hatch has broken several more times. (currently doesn't keep the critters out anymore) I am looking for a replacement hatch or if someone knows where I can get another one made it would be greatly appreciated.  Its quite annoying having to hold that thing down while running in rough seas.

Not sure you'll find an "off the shelf" replacement but rather have a plastics shop build you a one off.

Maybe someone like this in your area:

Of course you could purchase a sheet and try to cut and form it yourself.
Plenty of DIY vids on You Tube.

Good luck.

I've been putting off the DIY project... I had a feeling that's how i was going to have to fix it. I was hoping someone here knew someone who knew someone that had an old boat that had been in a wreck or sunk that had a pristine hatch for sale!🤣

Good luck on the hunt. I think having it made is the way to go. At least you have a mold for them to copy.
