Any opinions on the motor? Theres a couple for sale over on iboats for $3599. Good price or pass it on? Description says that it's a select pre-own and is under warranty till June of 2006. No prop or controls, but I'd get that stuff here in MA. What might I get for performance with this rig?

Also, the motor is located in Utah. What would shipping cost from that far away to Massachusetts?

Maybe I shouldn't even throw this in but Optibombs are not real popular around here.  I can't really say why.  The only personal experience I have is coming back from the Florida Middle Grounds (70+ miles offshore) on a friends 24' Rennasiance Catamaran with twin 125s (I think), one blew about 12 miles out.  I'm just glad we were not 70 miles out.  The cat wouldn't fully plane on one and we burned a helluva lot of fuel those last few miles.

It might be hard to find someone willing to do warranty work.   I would ask my local Merc dealer first.

Shipping alone could be several hundred and they might require crating which would be more.

Maybe I shouldn't throw this in either but maybe the best motor to have on your boat should be the same type the repair shop guy has on his.
