Title: Hurricane off North Carolina Coast
Post by: jdupree on September 13, 2018, 08:41:56 AM
I know we are not the "Florida Boys" but keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  Scott (Gran398) in Wilmington is expected to be the hardest hit.  It will most likely be bad for me as well, since we will be on the strongest side of the storm.  This storm is expected to stall over Wilmington for a day or so.

This hurricane is producing a storm surge which has not been seen in decades (even for you Florida boys).

I had thought that admin would have posted something about this by now :?:

Hey John,
Didn't see any posting on the other site from Admin either.... I've been talking with Scott for the last week everyday up until 10 minutes ago, so us "Florida Boys" do care about other people in these situations. Not sure of the inference here?

Hey John, Definitely thinking and keeping everyone on the East Coast in my prayers. I hope your family and you can stay safe during this nasty hurricane. Can’t imagine what you guys will be experiencing very soon. Tom

I have been in touch with several people up there over the past few days. At this moment the eye still hasn't made landfall although the effects have been felt for over 24 hrs already. Hope everyone that I missed contacting is safe.

It's looking like Flo is fizzling out as far as wind is going - at 75mph now (1pm), barely a hurricane anymore and it just landed 20 south of Wilmington. Wind in Wilmington was 43mph - maybe they dodged the bullet?
Keeping my fingers cross for a rapid fizzle out.
