I have to disagree to disagree.  We share the water with all the animals in it.  we don't own it or have the right to abuse it. Abusing it and taking reckless advantage of it will ensure it will  not be there for future generations.  I'm not a tree huger but I do advocate responsible use of our resources and this includes the water ways we enjoy with our boats.   Don't abuse any animal just for the fun of it whether it is a sea turtle, manatee, dolphin etc etc.
