Ice chests
« on: July 13, 2014, 07:53:54 PM »
I been toying around for a while about pulling the trigger on a higher end roto molded cooler
At better then $600 for 120 qt I kept putting it off
I ran across this Coleman Esky 135 a couple weeks back at LFS
I have had it in the boat the last couple times out and I really like it.
 It holds ice very well.
Not much ice had melted after  28 Hours .... 4 bags of ice and the temp yesterday at 89

Cutting board is a little flimsy but it worked just fine filleting some Salmon yesterday on the the run back to the launch

It has rubber feet and it stays put
I really like the overall dimensions. They are shorter and taller then any other cooler I have seen before

It takes up less space and it makes for a great seat.
I placed it in the center of my rear deck.

Now mind you it is not roto molded like the other higher priced coolers , but seeings how I don't have any hungry Grizzly bears to worry about when  I am out in the boat    and at better then $200 less then the other brands, I went with the Colman Esky

I see no beer in there, Bill...that's a problem...

Now, explain "shorter and taller".  Inquiring minds want to know...

Yea Bob that is a little confusing now that you bring it up

Shorter as in length
Taller as in height

As for no beer in there,I had already recycled all the evidence of Saturdays festivities this morn.

Sorry
You boys probably don't have a LFS store over there.
LFS  "Lummi Fisheries Supply"

If you ever watch the "Deadliest Catch" you will see a lot of the guys wearing  clothes with the "LFS" logo.
LFS is a big supplier to the commercial fishing industry here and in Alaska
