Title: Beginning my 1972 Semi-v 222 restoration
Post by: Cjarreola on September 13, 2020, 12:47:48 PM
Just wanted to share the beginning of what will be a long journey.   Considering that this is my first time restoring a boat, I will be leaning on many on this forum who have a vast amount of experience and knowledge to help make the right decisions.

Currently I am in the stripping down process as I access the work that will need to get down.   Stay tuned as I post more pictures with questions to follow.

Any advice that you would give me for taking out the floor and transom?

If you want to post a pic when you talk about your boat, which you should, follow the instructions here http://classicaquasport.com/smf/index.php?topic=12725.0  - don't attach them - you are limited by file size. Uploading them into your "member gallery" is better for viewing. You can also rotate them if needed, in the gallery.
Spend a few minutes to absorb the instructions. It's really easy. Remember if using a phone to take pics, to hold the phone horizontal with the lens to the left.

Good luck and ask away. For the floor and transom most people start with a circular saw set just deep enough to get through the floor, and almost all the way through the transom. A sawzall, jigsaw, oscillating tool, angle grinder with a diamond wheel and chisel will usually take care of the rest.
