Building Materials in Tampa
« on: November 16, 2009, 06:48:15 PM »
Does anyone know a place to buy marine plywood and fiberglass/resin in Tampa? I am rebuilding my 17.6 and haven't found anyplace for the wood, and only West Marine for the glass. I live in Spring Hill, but I work in Tampa, so anything close. Thanks for your help.

I bought my marine plywood from Quality plywood in Pinellas Park and my resins etc from Fiberglass coating in St Petersburg.  I know they are not in Tampa but the quality of the materials and the prices were great.

I called Quality Plywood today, and they are wholesale only now. I was told they do not sell to the public.

Try LLT Lumber on Nebraska, near Fletcher.  Knowledgeable folks, reasonable prices... and they sell Plum Creek PT Marine Plywood.

Thank You, everyone. Lilrichard, thanks, that is where where I went, and pulled the FGCI from your post. Great thread, your work and boat are top notch. Looks like you had an unlimited budget! Wish I could say the same, man this stuff is pricey.

Glad it worked out.  And yes, it seems that as petroleum prices went up, resin followed... but when petroleum prices went down, resin did not adjust accordingly.  Coincidence?  I think not.
