Wow John!
That came out amazing!  I love that color blue as well. Looks great, but more than looks it totally eliminates a useless area and makes it a much better use of space. Great job and thumbs up to the craftsman responsible for the worthy conversion. Enjoy!

Thanks Koz    She came out really nice.  I am happy with the results.  Towing her back over there today for some touch up work in a couple of places.

The main headache is having to basically rewire the whole boat since my batteries are coming up forward.  As I have already found out, this is going to be some work

Thanks again Koz.  Looking forward to seeing your 246 come together :thumright:

JD,
My 91 200 draws 170 amps when cranking. Logic would dictate yours probably is different but at least it is a quantity you can think about when sizing your battery cable run. The factor I dealt with is how much voltage drop I was willing to live with. The 3% for starting systems was what it seems is industry standard. I crawled all over the web for a definitive answer but that figure was the closest I could find.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info Bob    I am going with 2 gauge for that cable run to the engine.  I already have them crimped and ready to install.  Between work and 2 girls, most of my work is best done at night    Not going to do much until it warms up here.  Still getting down to high 20's at night

2 gauge from the motor to the console will do just fine.   :thumright:

2 Gauge will handle 170-190 amps depending on insulation type and temp rating - look on the jacket - if it says 167 degrees it's good for 170 amps - if it says 194 degrees it's good for 190 amps.  But either should work!   :thumleft:   Post some pics when you can!

I like those Scott.  Go ahead and pick them up for me and we will just charge them to your rebuild

Capt. John - Here are the only pictures I have now.  Dropped her back off at the shop for a little touch up work and also decided to have her completely buffed and waxed.  Should make her look brand new based on what I have seen him do.

Sure will.  Maybe next winter.

I need to make a  new fuel tank first. And glass in some backing for my new tower before that.....then finish the rewire....and hydraulic install and bleed and................................Salmon season starts next weekend.

Yikes!!!!!

Got her back from my glass guy.  Got some touch up work done as well as the hull compounded and waxed.  It's amazing what a professional can do :!:
