« on: August 26, 2020, 08:39:29 PM »
Was hoping for some opinions or advice about this will be my first power boat, ive owned a few small sailboats in the past. Was looking for some expert eyes on anything wrong or what to look for ive already looked through buying a used aquasport bible post.

Nice looking boat. Appears (in the pics) to have been well cared for.

Just shake the transom/bang on it and listen.
Look at the wiring under the console.
Check the trailer for rust especially the springs and axles
Take it for a sea trial and see how she runs. That motor, assuming it is set up properly, should push the hull 40 mph with little effort.

She'll get in real skinny water and on really nice days carry you offshore a ways. She's best used as a bay boat IMHO. Mine served me well for 16 years.

Good luck. :thumright:

Thanks skipper, i really appreciate the reply. You think thats a fair price or should i offer less? So far I know the bilge pump isnt working but everything else seems to be in great shape.

Good looking rig.  No better test of hull/engine performance than water testing.  Seems like a fair asking price, assuming this '86 engine is tip-top.  Be that as it may, why not offer lower?  What's the worst that could happen.
