200 CCP trailer questions
« on: August 13, 2013, 01:07:06 PM »
I just purchased a used trailer (roller) for my 1980 200 CCP and was wondering if anybody knew what the spacing between the stringers was?  I want to make sure I locate the rollers under/near the stringers if possible.  I know most people on this site recommend bunk trailers, but the ramp I will be using is better suited for roller trailers.

Thanks, Sean

Sean, I don't have a 200 CCP but I would bet the easiest thing to do is look in the bilge and measure. IMHO on these hulls the placement of the rollers is not as critical as on a hull with solid wood stringers. The glass stringers in your hull have a very wide footprint. On my 222 the inside edge of each side is about 16 inches from the keel. They are almost a foot wide to the other side. On your hull I would bet they are even wider due to the deeper V. Let us know what you find!
