cc 17" uses a 12 footer. A 14 footer you will have to loop

You definitely do not want a loop.  It's hard to understand mechanically but a loop (or several bends) causes slack at the helm.  Same with the motor controls.

I agree NEVER LOOP the steering cable. I made a mistake. Control cables can be looped. Steering cables have to be measured to within inches. I believe six inches max.
