Correct prop for 250 Express Fisherman w/175hp ?
« on: May 11, 2006, 09:37:23 AM »
I have a 1982 250 Express Fisherman. I'm putting a 175 hp Evinrude OceanPro on it. What would be the best prop for general cruising with a light load? Thanks. Steve

Likely everybody's off for the long weekend.

As a place to start maybe try www.themarinedoctor.com.  I have a high regard for his info.  He's helped me out with a few questions.

Steve:  I would put my bet on a 15 pitch, 3 blade.  With a 175, you may find a 4 blade gets you on a plane a little faster, and you may be able to get to a 16 pitch, but I don't think you could get to a 17 on that boat with a 175.

My $0.02 - good luck!
