Fuel tanks and anything about fuel systems / 2003 215 Explorer fuel tank depth
« Last post by Hshirokmann on April 21, 2024, 02:21:36 PM »
I need to replace my fuel sender and just wondering if anyone knows the tank depth for the 100 gal tank. I have not removed the original sender yet to measure. Thanks!

Seems the anti-cavitation plate is even with the bottom of the hull so I think it is good.

Also, remember if using a phone to take pics, to hold the phone horizontal with the lens to the left. If you hold the phone vertical, the pictures post like the one above.

Capt. Bob,

Thanks for the info. I tested the solenoid resistance and found it was good, and I replaced the key switch which resolved my issue. Thanks for the info.

I am looking for advice on the way the motor is mounted on mine.
Is this a problem? Should I lower it or add a shim or just leave it there?  This is the way I received it.

I don't see a good pic of the transom and the engine mount.
I advise you to start a new topic on this forum and keep all your questions in that topic/thread. https://classicaquasport.com/smf/index.php?board=28.0

In the new topic post a pic that shows us what you're asking about. You have already done the hard part of posting pics, by getting the pics to your gallery. Follow the instructions in this thread and start reading at #8. https://classicaquasport.com/smf/index.php?topic=12725.0

I just added a couple more pics to the gallery.  I have a question about the way the motor is mounted.  Is the gap a problem and what should I do to correct it?  It looks like the mount height is correct at the lower.

On March 23rd I picked up a TTop tower combination that was from a Young 24. Looks to be a similar top that I have seen on a Gause as well. Really solid and got it for a great price. I tried for a while to find a frame so I could build a hardtop so this is perfect. It also has the provision for me to add a second station if I decide to do so and has a storage box built into the fiberglass top. Now just have to cut up my console to make it work.

Transom live well that they just threw into the deal( Pretty Wide and deep.....Dimensions are approx. 17x37x17 :

The fuel tank subfloor was almost finished until I had a failure on the layup. I am pretty sure the glass was wet in one spot because it rained really bad the day before and the glass (although hiding under the hull) got damp. Got it ripped off, grinded back down and its finally done.

These 1’’ Plascore Plastic Honeycomb panels are incredibly strong when laid up. There is nearly no deflection in a 1'' panel. Really happy with them. I did pick up a couple sheets of 3/4'' to inlay for the tower and either heavy glass thickening or 1/4'' aluminum backing.
