And make sure you have the right switch, when I replaced mine I bought the wrong one even though it was suppose to be the replacing part number

Just realize your motor is a 1974(didn't have a safety switch in that year)

M- (left side) black/yellow18ga(from the red plug)

S-white 18ga(comes from the neutral start switch which the white(from the red plug) is connected to

A-  purple18ga(comes from the choke switch which the purple/white18ga(from the red plug)is connected to . There's also a jumper lead purple 16ga that comes from the horn which a tan wire 18ga (from the red plug) is connected to

M-(right side) two black wires, 16ga that comes from the red plug, 18ga from the ground lead of the controls

B-red/purple12ga from the red plug

Now you should have a gray wire18ga, it's the tach lead

Lets see how it goes, we will get you running soon

the brown one to A
The brown should be connected to the horn (alarm, buzzer, in case your motor overheats) and a purple wire(jumper) from the horn to the A. You do have a horn?

Quote from: "nightrain76"
but now i have one violet and one violet with white stripes???????
The violet with white stripes goes to the choke switch and from there to the A and the other violet can go directly to A if you want.If you want to choke your motor the violet with the white stripe needs to be connected to the choke switch

Do you have any wires coming out of the control box(throttle control) your neutral switch should be in there

No, we are not talking about that horn ;)

It should part of your ignition switch, can you push your key in the switch?

4- i've got the buzzer and on the buzzer i have 2 wires haw can i connect it???
One end to A and the other end to the tan or brown wire

BTW, what kind of controls do you have? Because the choke, neutral switch could  be in your control box!!

So you don't have wires coming out of the control box? from underneath ?

Yes

For now, just connect the purple wire to A
The purple/white wire is for the choke(it comes from the choke solenoid), you can add a switch later if you want by putting a momentary switch between the purple/white wire and A, you will then be able to choke your motor with that switch

Here's what the switch does when in action, you'll notice that on START position contact is being made from the battery to A and S, the wire connected to S goes to the solenoid to activate the starter, once the motor is running the ignition will be on the ON postion

Not sure you can, the buzzer gets the signal from the temp switch/sensor that's on the engine
