Here are some towing capacities/comparisons for the biggest, baddest duelly pickups in the marketplace, from Edmunds:

http://www.insideline.com/gmc/sierra-35 ... -test.html

Only one rated to 18K is via fifth wheel. For towing horses or a huge multi-car trailer, lowboy, etc. Regular hitch towing...14K max or so.

So...and Bob, you know me well enough to know that I am not being argumentative....how did they legally get those big brutes to the show, without a Kenworth?

I keep saying you need that International CXT.  20 tons of towing power and it will look reeeeal good in your driveway!  Besides, if you can afford 5 Vrods on your fishing boat, who cares about how much the truck costs?

To the shows, like Miami, Lauderdale, Annapolis?  Boat haulers, plain and simple.  Everybody does it.  But I've pulled the 35 (in the almost exact same form as I described above) down to the St. Pete city marina launch next to "The Pier" from Crystal River, about 85 miles, with no probs.  And, I didn't have a permit.  Just hoped I didn't see a DOT cop on the way down.

She went back via the Gulf...

I'm with ya Bob. Up here, the law makes a living on pulling all types of trucks for weight violations based upon their "weighted" license plates.

That truck John posted eliminates boat-hauling questions...at least the ones on trailers

Yep - the ones with 5 Vrods on their boats?  But still, I think the record for boat that says "too much money" has to go to Stefan Gabbana's boat, REGINA D'ITALIA, with leopard carpet, marble statues and tubs, and more bling than (fill in the blank):
