Boy this place sure got quiet
« on: January 06, 2010, 07:26:51 PM »
What's everyone doing - shoveling snow?
The majority of the US is hurtin' for certain as far as cold goes.  We're expecting sub-freezing weather here halfway down FL.  Walked the dog this morning in 33F weather - man I had double everything on - double shorts, double hawaiin shirt, double flip-flops - no, just kidding. I did layer up though and it was quite cold for us down here.

You are right Capt. Bob; this cold weather has put a damper on the chit cat. I`m in Flagler County, Fl it was 23 degrees going to work this morning. We are looking at a big fish kill up here!

I have so much I want to do to the CCP before next season, but with highs in the low 30's here in NC it is hard to get motivated :!:

We must keep the faith and retain all that brings us to the aquasport promised land regardless off wind, cold, snow or sleet for we are the next generation of believers; ready to share with our offspring and signifigant others the true attributes of a hull like none other... fitz73222

The reason I even bring up the cold is that most people think of a tropical island when they think of FL, always warm, people running around in shorts and tank tops all year round while they're snowed in, having to unbury their cars to go to work, having to heat the car keys to unlock the frozen locks, having to plug their car block heaters in at night to keep everything from freezing, having to showel snow multiple times a day, etc.....
I remember standing at a bus stop here when a kid and seeing the bank sign showing 19F!! That's darned cold for us. Yesterday was 30 with 76 or 79% humidity - cuts right through everything.  Today it's up to 41 - not bad.  Saturday expecting 26 again.  Hey at least it kills the bugs. You might have seen on the news that all this cold weather is making the iquanas that are rampant in the state, go into hibernation and they're falling out of the trees
