I was with progressive for a good while on my boats.  I recently changed jobs and I am now an agent with Allstate.  Yesterday I went ahead and moved my coverage over to Allstate and was shocked at the difference between the two.  Not to promote myself, but the Allstate price was approx. 1/2 the price from Progressive with the same coverage.  Like previously stated, rates are different from state to state.

Allstate came through for me when I had my '63 Chris-Craft Constellation.  Many companies did not want to insure an old wooden cruiser, regardless of condition.  Allstate was half the price of the others, and only required an agent to inspect the boat - not a full survey - which saved me a couple hundred dollars as well.     I had a claim during Hurricane Hugo that was paid quickly and with very little hassle.  My experience with Allstate boat owners insurance was very positive.   :salut:
