I spoke to John,and I'm waiting for a reply on cost,were going to go with a slightlyshorter tank,so we can also fit the much
smaller oil tank in there as well !

I'm also looking for someone up here to install  the new tank {once we get one}and run all new lines for our outboard thats being worked on.

got a decent price from them !
$350.00 for a 55"x22"x8"
This is for an unpainted tank, is it worth it to have it powdercoated for an extra $75.00 ? on a 1977 boat ?

I also wish someone could change the thread title to 1977 22-2 FF O/B  :mrgreen:

I also found the pump today,the fuel tank compartment has 2 small holes that lead to the pump compartment.

FYI, 99% of builders don't coat their tanks, powdercoat or otherwise.  If you want, it certainly won't hurt anything, but as long as the tank is relatively free from accumulated water, you'll be fine with aluminum.  Make sure pressure and leak testing on done on it first.  3 PSI for 14 minutes.  Brush all seams and welds with soapy water.  If you don't witness it, get a cert from the builder that this was done.

Ain't trying to scare you off...just do it right.  :wink:

Hey Rick, how's fishing in the bay?  How are the snook doing?  Or are you fishing for sheepies? :mrgreen:

I'll bring a spray bottle of dishwashing liquid with me !{ keep spraying while under pressure for 14 minutes} !

Were not sure on what tank rubber to order ? does the tank just lay on it ?.
My buddies were going to use 2 strips of 1/2" thick rubber run downboth sides under the new tank to raise it.do most people foam it in ?and if so,I'm thinking we shouldn't foam below the tank so water passes below correct ?

Bill,
We run rubber longitudal, 2 strips on each side of the "keel" of the tank, that run from the top forward edge, underneath, and terminate at the top aft edge.  NMMA requirements for builders.

If you want to foam it in, that's up to you.  We have RDS weld L-brackets to the top of the tank, 2 starboard, 2 port, and we lag them into the stringers with 1/2" lags.  No foam.  Your call.  With your boat, and seeing as you guys won't be hitting 6 to 8s at 60MPH, I wouldn't worry about it... :mrgreen:

very nice !

the tank was ordered,I missed Phil {he posts here !} met his brother,and looked at a few of the tanks they made and they looked great !

we decided against the foam,Phil is ordering the needed neo/rubber stuff for tank elevation.

my tank is now going to be 58" L x 22 1/4" W x 8" H about 45 gallons {I think ?}

we also pre-ordered a new Lowrance HDS-7 {140-14}

were now looking for a set of gauges {white} not sure what to get ?

How do these look?  They are made by Faria, far better than Teleflex.  We have them make the gauges for us with the White "Euro" gauge with a 316 SS bezel.  Let me know what you want, i.e. tach, speedo, fuel, volt, fuel, water pressure, whatever.  You'll be surprised at the price.  Let me know.

Just wait a second here.  Rick, good job on letting the 28 go.  He/she will make more little ones.  By "cherry", I meant stain, as it gives you that beautiful reddish glow that seems to "lighten" up furniture.  JMO.

Alright Bill, what gauges do you want?  Give me a list, and I assume you still have the '99 Merc 200.  I would suggest 0-7000 Tach, Speedo, Voltmeter, Fuel, water pressure, and trim.  You can forego the speedo if you're just going to use GPS for speed.

Let me know, I'll give you an estimate, and provide you with a link to compare pricing.
