Mike, actually we have a hidden mirror site where we really take the gloves off.  You should have heard the horrible abuse I took after I pounded on LilRichard about the foolish way he... well, never mind...

Seriously though, THT is what it is.  Somebody asks a straightforward question and from there on out it's a 30% grade to the bottom.

Mike Answeeney, you are 100% right about what you said about this site. i really am glad i found it. up here in the north east there is a very popular fishing site that i have been a member of for many years. when i first started posting on it about 5 years ago it was the best. you would ask a question and get great honest answers from people who know their stuff. fast forward 5 years and when you post a question you get twenty different opinions from prople who dont know their @$$ from their elbow when it comes to fishing and they all think their way is the best and only way. the amount of bashing that goes on really makes me sick. the bickering that goes on in THT is nothing compared to what goes on there. i wont even get into what goes on in the fishing report section of the site.

now this site on the other hand is a whole different story. it is packed with amazing info, all of the members are great, and most of all everyone gets along. i have not seen a single post here where one member bashes another. everyone keep up the good work!!  :D

I steered the original poster from the THT thread (poor guy, was just looking for info) to our site.  He is probably lurking around to see if we are really the kind of up-and-up group I described us as.  Keep your socks up!  Let's not waste time bashing other sites and focus on keeping classic aquasport the shining example that it has always been.

I hate that place and who is that "stanley" guy - like a little kid standing on the outside of a fight, throwing stones to keep stirring it up.
Now I'm going back to sleep.

I did notice the Aquasport thread on THT and could only read for entertainment purposes.  I like and even love THT for the information and the variety of threads and don't mind the bashing and nonsense that goes on, the longer the posts and more entertaining the better I say.  I only wish that Classic Aquasport was like it however I'm well aware that the classic, pre-Genmar days and boats are relatively few and far between.

I think that no matter what, even if Genmar did decide to make another Aquasport, it will never be the same boat much like the Charger, Magnum, Thunderbird or even Mustang will be, maybe the VW Beetle but we will see about that.  Will they ever bring back the sheerline that was?, similar length to beam ratio?, I really doubt it as there are so many boats out there and the closest thing I see out there is a Panga-style or a Panga-design that is even remotely similar.  Nothing against the later AS' but they were for sure not the same, I even wonder whether my 87 is in the ballpark but by looking at it without the grey and blue stripe on the side, it is very close to the "Classic".

I would rather read bickering and bashing and insults and such than nothing at all, and I agree, this site is very helpful but then again, so is THT with other things due to the sheer number of people on it.

It's kinda like going out to the local hoosgow for a frolicking night out and maybe a good fight and then coming back "home" to where you're respected and treated accordingly.
If this place got anything near like THT, that'd be it for me (not much of a loss and easily replaced).  Even the "clicks" on FS can be a bit much for me sometimes.
I'm here for the camaraderie and respect everyone gives and takes - that thread mentioned above, of the 3 pages (when I read it) had about 4 posts about the topic - the rest was bashing and major BS.  My time is too valuable to waste.
My $.02 and worth maybe less.

I didn't even click on the link because it was THT.

I read the whole thread hoping for some sort of confirmation that the Aquasport name was being brought back as a bay-boat line (and bringing back the old Osprey layouts) but unfortunately I never say that - I only saw a bunch of bickering.
