1978 magazine ad for 22.2 CCP - good for printing
« on: March 09, 2005, 01:34:50 PM »
Have a look at this ad from 1978! My 22,2 CCP from 1982 is virtually identical - my console has only one row of instrumentation but I have the double Morse throttles - because mine had an auxiliary motor that can be controlled from the console, from new.

The scan is high-res so you should be able to print it at full-size.

Steved, good find :!: .

As we start collecting these scans,  we should develop some system to keep model, year, etc. organised in some coherent way.  Example: I'm doing a scan this weekend of a 70's owners manual for 19' cuddy AS.  If there was a link on classicaquasport I could upload it to it would be immediately "findable" for the whole group.  This would save having to plow through various postings.  Maybe this is a question for our fearless leadership...?

My idea is that we link this to the history project. I will try to post a list of the various models Aquasport made in each year from 1967 to 1988 (my idea is to post in a way that everybody can chime in to make sure we have each and every model.  Then, as part of the history project, we can create a thread or zone for each one, and then we can post everything that is pertinent to that model and year (with cross-referencing and links, for example to a single model over the years, etc.).  What do you all think?

Good Job Steved!

JimCt has a great idea. We are bound to come across Aquasport memorabilia from time to time, and it would be nice to be able to store it all in one place on CA.

Either that or elect Steved the 'Official Aquasport.com Curator.'

Put boat model and year in profiles?
« Reply #5 on: March 09, 2005, 02:52:11 PM »
This post should probably be moved into the website issues, but it is pertinent here too. Wouldn't it be a good idea to include fields for the model and year of Aquasport members own? That would make it possible to search for members who had the same boat. It would also allow us to link photos to the sections in the history project.

Ask and ye shall receive...

I've created a new category in the photo gallery called "Documentation." Currently there are 3 subcategories under Documentation, "Advertisements," "Manuals," and "Articles." When you upload scanned images, just make sure you assign them to the proper category. I can very easily create subcategories of subcategories. So, if for instance we want to break down Advertisements into ads for CC, CCPs, 19s, 22'2", etc, etc we can certainly do that.

OK kids, lets start now.

Categories would be basically these, with corrections made by you guys who are more informed  Maybe a spreadsheet type format?

LENGTH
175
185
205
210
215
235
250
275

PROD YR.
1967
1968
1969
yada, yada...
2005

Aquasport MODEL
Explorer
Osprey
CCP
etc.

These need correction because I don't know the "official" model types AS used over the years.

Steved, as assigned leader, can you flesh the mechanics out on this some so we have something to present to Captain & Wilson?  My guess is that the scans, pix and other goodies are going to start piling up soon.

Great idea Steved.
