I guess its just like everything else that is good or great, I had to quit smoking cigarettes cause the price got up to $3.00 a pack, I had to cut way back on my drinking cause it got to taxy....I mean expensive, Now, I have to run the cheap gas because of our government rules....and because I am a penny pincher. But it does help that my Evinrude manual says Ethanol is OK to use....just change out your rubbers regularly  and if you watched Rick video....
....keep it fresh

You quit at $3.00 a pack, Heck I gave them up at 75 cents a pack, and you think your cheap???

Stabil makes a additive for ethanol fuel that is suppose to keep it fresh, it is blue in color instead of red.

What's the difference between the two colors?

It's blue as you approach it on the shelf and red when you walk away.

Right from their website.

Q: What is the difference between Marine Formula STA-BIIL®, STA-BIL® Fuel Stabilizer, and the new STA-BIL® Ethanol Treatment products?
A:  Marine Formula STA-BIL® Ethanol Treatment was designed for use at every fill up for marine engines (boats, jetskis) to protect against the damaging effects experienced when using Ethanol blended fuels -- including corrosion caused by water attraction, and fuel system plugging caused by deposit loosening.
STA-BIL® Fuel Stabilizer is designed for use during STORAGE of any gasoline equipment or vehicle stored for 30 days or more, or used infrequently. It will keep gas fresh for 12 months, and help prevent corrosion, and gum and varnish formation.
New STA-BIL® Ethanol Treatment is designed for use at every fill up for all gasoline automotive and small engines for protection against these same problems.

All STA-BIL® brand products are effective in all gasolines, including Ethanol blends, including E-85.

PS... If I had to guess......dye.

I could be wrong but I think the Marine blue is cheaper per gallon treated then the red. It's not the same mix ratios.

Getting close again on the boat. I pulled it from the water changed all the filters and drained the tank and put fresh gas and startron in it. The guy that rebuilt the carbs adjusted them when we were running gas/oil mix from the 6 gal tank and the vro system was injecting oil too and the motor ran and idled fine. Now when I put it back in the water and am just running the one oil source and straight gas from the tank its not idling so good and stalling if I put it in reverse and sometimes forward. I'm guessing that maybe the idle and adjustments have to be reset because its not getting that double oil. Does this sound like that could be right?

Andy

Did you change out your fuel hoses after you drained your tank and tuned up your carbs because it sounds like the same thing is happening. running the oil thru the VRO instead fo mixing with fuel would not cause that problem. One other thing get rid of the startron and use only the StaBil it does a better job.

PS

When you drained the tankdid you put any of the old fuel in a container to see if you had any seperation.
