I don't understand.....
« on: May 29, 2016, 12:11:20 PM »
1996 Osprey 19.6, 130 Johnson off the back. I'm not sure if it's me but my boat has been out of the water for a week or two on the trailer   and I swear the floor behind the cooler seat but in front of transom is getting softer. Its hard from the transom to about 6 inches and the transom itself feels solid as heck (lifted and rocked engine with no flex).   The area the cooler is screwed to seems fine. I looked and there seems to be no wires or tubing or anything under the bad area. Its probably a 3x4 foot spot. I guess what I'm asking is how hard would this be to replace correctly? I plan on keeping this boat for quite a few years. Is there a good, precise article that explains step by step with pictures?? Thanks all and please remember what Memorial Day is about. Be safe.

Can you glass a brace under the spot?  Maybe it's just flexing because of the span without support?  Can you get a pic of the underside?

Yes I will try to get a picture. It seems like it flexes more in between the stringers. I see no cracks or anything of how it could have gotten wet EXCEPT where the po moved the cooler seat back a few inches and left the original mounting holes exposed.
