2004 Yamaha 300 HPDI Z300TXRC

(1/1)

SossyShrimp:
Greetings!
I just acquired a 2001 Aquasport 215 Osprey Sport DC w/ a 2004 Yamaha 300 HPDI (Z300TXRC).

Does anyone know where to find an inexpensive service manual for this engine? I'd rather not buy one online for $100.
Is it necessary? I'm a little outboard savvy having serviced and sometimes repaired a 03 Yami F150, 2000 Yami 60 2-Stroke, 1998 Yami 115 2-Stroke.

Engine has 290 hours and has always run well... according to the previous owner for what that's worth. Runs like its pants are on fire. We hit 52 during the water test and it could have done more.

I want a fresh start with this engine maintenance-wise. Am I missing anything here?
-Spark Plugs*6 = NGK 6993
-Water Pump Kit(No housing) = 61A-W0078-A3-00
-Thermostats*2 and covers  = 60V-12411-00 & 60V-12414-A0-00
-Fuel Filter and O Ring - 68F-24563-10-00 & 61A-24564-00-00
-Oil Strainers = 61A-13411-00-00 & 646-24251-02
-Fuel Filter/Strainer = 60V-24251-01
-Trim and LU Zincs = 69L-45371-00 & 6g5-45251-02
-VST Filters * 2 = 68F-13915-00
-Lower Unit Oil = 80w90 (I'm using Starbrite synthetic part#027200)
-Fuel Filter/Water Separator(replacing mount too) = Sierra 10 micron

Do I need to do anything to the injectors? I understand these engines are temperamental about clean fuel.

I'm hoping this list and its feedback with help others like this site has helped me in the past.

I'd like to start a thread about getting the boat and engine ready to rock again. Pumps, faded hull, engine service, etc. Which forum is the place for that? Is this an Osprey qualification or family dc?

Thanks!
Jeff

You can start your thread here. While not a rebuild from the fiberglass sense it's more of a refresh. Best place to showcase what you're doing.

Genmar considered it an Osprey Sport so yes an Osprey. It was geared more toward the family rather than the hard core fisherman. Still it tics several boxes for use on the water. Like a Swiss army knife.
