´87 196 stripper

WOW! I can´t believe that this web site existed. I found it by pure luck.  I have a 1987 196 stripper that I pick up at the Hialeah factory at about 3:30 p.m. on that faithful Friday that Aquasport shut down.  The boat originally went to a dealer in the south and the dealer went belly up.  The boat was returned to Hialeah were I purchased it "as is" in May of 1988.  I think that my boat was the last one to leave the factory prior to closing for sure later that afternoon.  The boat has always been near its birthplace since I reside about 2 miles south of the original factory.  I´m in the process of completing a total rebuild with new instruments, teak wood, electronics, wiring, lighting etc.  The original engine a Johnson 120 from ´88 got a new VRO, carb rebuild, new paint, decals, all the hoses, pump and powerpack.   The boat and motor have 428 hours of use and for the past 18 years has been kept indoors for about 90% of the time.  To complete my project I´m looking for a catalog from 1988, can anyone help?
Thanks

Welcome aboard. If you really have the last one, that makes a good bit to put in our history project (which I am sort of leading).  In fact, since you lived right near the place, maybe you can give us some additional information - whatever you have would be great.

With regard to your search for catalog info, if you look on the photo gallery, you will find catalog pages from just a bit before what you are looking for. Should be good enough for what you want.

You must really be a stickler for detail. I can't believe that you are rebuilding a boat that only has 428 hours on it and has been stored inside! Be sure to take lots of before and after pictures and post them in the gallery.

Again, welcome aboard.
