Stuck Screws

OK guys- simple question.  I have 4 SS screws that are holding an aluminum bracket to a flush mount aluminum plate.  The screws and plate have corroded together.  Any advice for breaking the screws loose?

How about something like this:



Seriously, try soaking with some WD-40 and and then using an impact wrench.  It will usually break the screws loose without breaking the heads off.  A hand impact wrench (that you use with a hammer - not an air tool) is a handy tool for breaking fasteners loose.

Have you tried the typical penetrating oils?  Try a PB Blaster or something similar- it may help.  I heat the metal, then spray the penetrant on there- as it cools it sucks up the oil.

If their phillips or cross point screws you can drill the heads off and punch em through. If their slot heads screws it will be difficult to center the bit. Are you going to reuse the part?
