Hi FS,

I would guess not much changed in that short time.
The first year of the 196 was '72.
Here is a '74 catalog http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2827&title=as-all-models-brochure1-1974&cat=568

Here is a '80 catalog http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2839&title=as-all-models-brochure1-1980&cat=572

Then some of the "Marketing Math" took over and the 196 became the 200 with nothing changing except the decals, etc

You see around 86 or 87 the Marketing Math kicked in - same boat, different decals http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2860&title=as-all-models-86-5&cat=574

Even up to 92 the model stayed the same (see the math in the LOA of the 200) http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2873&title=as-all-mods-1992-2&cat=575

But a couple new Osprey models were introduced that year (or there about) - the 210 and 217 Osprey - seems the beam changed for one thing and the liner looks different too - maybe Genmar was infusing different modelling from other lines into the AS line  http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2873&title=as-all-mods-1992-2&cat=575

I have not seen nor do we have a member that I can remember that has a 217 Osprey.

The only difference is the deck cap. In 1976 they changed the deck cap and made it taller giving the boat more freeboard. Other than that they are the same.
