Happy New Year Aquasport fans. I have a 1996 Aquasport 245 Osprey. Had it close to 2 years, slowly fixing it up. It never had either of the gas shocks or struts for lifting the front seat on the center console. So I don’t have any details on the size or lifting force required. Searching this site, I found a couple posts mentioning some details in the attached links, but the posts are 10 years old and the links like Ameritool with the size required don’t open due to age. I did see someone post they thought 29 inches are needed, which matches up close to my measurement. I can order the Taylor Made struts at West Marine it seems, they have a 28 inch and a 36 inch, among others. But I have no idea what force is required. Taylor has 40, 50, 60, 80 pounds and possibly higher. I’ve found a complex formula in newtons which didn’t work for me but Maybe someone’s done this repair, so I’m seeking 2 things, the correct length and correct force in pounds if anyone may know. Thanks to anyone who may know and can help!
