Pete,
Never actually got off 95 to go in there...but it was good to go by, just kind of a waypoint along the interstate...

Speaking of billboards.  When we would leave Chicago to come down here on vacation (Sarasota), as soon as we hit I-65 in northern Indiana, there was a billboard for Weeki Wachee Springs, home of the mermaids.  I always thought, "WTF, that's like 1200 miles away!"...and we never went there...

Today?  I live 5 miles from Weeki Wachee Springs, go by it almost everyday...and still haven't been there!

Just a little distraction while Wing heads north.  Oh, BTW Wing, ever been to Sunken Gardens?  That's been around forever too.

"Dump" would be the applicable word

The founder of SOB...from the sixties..is not with us now. But his fam still owns Robeson County, NC. Tough area. Michael Jordan's dad from Wilmington was murdered near there.

Going through that area, which he will...glad wing is packing. Worst area of the state.

Almost ironic, Fernando.  A little story about Universal Studios. The 2 tall buildings that make up the hotel right across Kirkman from the main entrance used to be right across the street from...woods.  With Florida Panthers.  When I moved down to Orlando from Chicago in '81, we lived about 2 miles from the hotel. There was no Universal, International Drive ended at Sand Lake Road, and the "Sheraton Twin Towers", as they were known then, were closed, fenced off, and slated for demolition.  Once again, a little chuckle, as I would think, "Who the blank would build that hotel here...on Kirkman..."

Now?  One of the most valuable pieces of property in all of FL...

And where did I get my first job upon arrival?  Sea World.  Go effin figure!  And, yes, I can tell you where they bury the Shamu's.  They don't live forever, you know...

Alright, Wing should be getting close to checking in now...
