Repairing, cleaning & repainting the hull

My boat doesn't have that raised portion on the transom.  What year is your boat again?  Maybe they did that to save costs during that era?

You going to use the "Roll and Tip" method" to paint the hull?  You can research it on the web at a marine paint site.

For the Aquasport badges, take the pics to a local vinyl sign shop and see if they can make something close.

As for pricing, a boat is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  If that is the highest offer you've had, I can only hope you paid less for it yourself.

I relooked at the crack and it looks like there was some kind of reinforcing/thickening plate where the motor mounts.  It almosts looks like it was factory too?

I don't know - as Bahi said, it looks "factory", so maybe that is how they made the transoms later on?  Does yours look "factory" too?

No Marc, she is the only Aquasport I saw in Qatar.

I didn't want to upload more photos before having her ready. I completed the job, last Wednesday, but the deck was covered by dust, sand & dead leafs. On Thursday 4/17/08, I took her back to sea.


We used to go every Friday to the nearest Island (Al-Safeleya). Yesterday, I decided to take my family on their first trip to Banana Island, about 15 miles far from the harbour. We moved at around 1000 hrs, and the weather conditions were good (87.8 F/ 7 kt wswly / 1 ft). We passed by the Coast Guards for trip registration (boat name & specifications / direction / expected time of return / crew / cell phone number...etc), and reached the island in less than half an hour.




 







At 1300 hrs, I noticed that the wind started to change direction more to the west, then it became calm, and I started to worry. Suddenly, It started to blow nwly. I knew that a strong wind & high sea are coming soon. I told my wife & we started to quickly return everything to the boat, but the bad weather was faster than us. I hardly managed to leave the island due to the strong wind & large waves. It took us almost an hour to return to the harbour in a force 5 condition (17 kt wnwly / 7 ft / dusty / 0.75 mile visibility), while my wife & three daughters are sitting on the floor in the middle of the boat. We arrived all wet, but we did safely.

My family trusted me as a good captain, I trusted my dear 17' Aquasport as a good boat, and we succeeded.

Yes Marc, it was a miracle. I didn't believe myself when I asked one of the Coast Guard, then I checked this site:

In regards to the bilge, unfortunately, I still find some water. It's not too much, so I'm not yet sure if it was already inside or still coming from outside. I'll be sure by the end of the week.
