2004 215 Explorer - Wanting to Install a Tower That Can Be Used for Skiing

(1/1)

dreamweaver:
Hi all,

Just finished my first season with a 2004 215 Explorer.  Still getting used to it.  Bought it for fishing, but there is interest from my teenagers to want to ski behind it.  No real way to do that currently other than to used the eyelets on the transom, which will lead to ski ropes getting caught in the wake.  Thinking about installing a tower over the winter, but there are not a lot of options out there for a walkaround.  Here is one that I found that states you can ski/wakeboard with it, but not pull tubes.

Wondering if anyone has experience having some family fun in this boat pulling kids around on tubes and skiing.  I am thinking that pulling a tube using the transom eyelets probably would work.  Also wondering it anyone has installed a tower like the one in the link on theirs and what has been their experience.

Any guidance would be great.  Thanks all!!

IDK about the tower, but as far as a hard point for towing tubes, skiers, etc. could look into something like this from Overtons: https://www.overtons.com/turboswing-xxl-100-250-hp-applications-330115.html#q=tow&lang=default&start=14&cgid=watersports%2Fwaterskis%2Fwaterski-accessories%2Fski-pylons-tow-hooks

I have this exact top on my 1997 225 Explorer and love it. Below is a site that I bought it from. It came with 4 free rocket launchers, tow point and nav light. Arrived in 3 days, shipping was about $90. Myself, my wife and 2 kids put it together in the garage and installed it on the boat ourselves. It is very easy to assemble and is really sturdy.
