Title: coffin lid re-core and the wonders of vinegar
Post by: doug mayer on November 20, 2017, 05:30:52 PM
Plywood in coffin lid needed replacing.  Almost all of it came out with ease, but one section was pretty well attached still, and not wet through rotten.  I have been pouring small amounts of white vinegar on it to marinate it so to speak.  After soaking for a while, it softens up and comes out much more easily.  So--cheers for white vinegar.

Beer helps too - you drink it while you wait for the vinegar to work.  Makes the job go much better!   :singing:
