170 stern mounted livewell ????

Does anyone know how the stern mounted livewells were attached. Bolted ,glassed ????

There were four holes per each external livewell. Through-bolted on the lower two holes into the bilge. Lag-screwed into the transom on the upper two, so as not to interfere/intrude the deck.

That would make installing them now a pain without cutting in some inspection hatches...........lol

Not a biggee. Go ahead and cut the deck near the transom, between the stringers, and install a single good-sized, quality hatch.

Put an automatic bilge pump in there too :thumright:
