Title: Tachometer on 2003 Aquasport 175
Post by: Pri123 on April 08, 2021, 09:41:27 AM
Hi all

I run an 2003 Aquasport Osprey 175 with a 90HP Johnson 2-stroke (Model J90PLSTC).  My tach is not working and I am wondering where the grey wire should connect to.  I believe that is the wire that sends the signal to the tach.

There is power getting to the instrument and the warning lights (oil, fuel, etc..) on the tach all work.

Any input appreciated.

Hey Pri
I do not know what kind of tach you have. But I ran across this 2007 article about a guy using a systems check tach, but he did not need the systems check part of the tach. He did a good job of identifying the wires. You are correct - the GRAY wire is the tach pulse or signal wire.
