What is a used JRC 1000 radar worth?
« on: May 11, 2010, 04:04:04 AM »
I had one of these ordered a few years back for $699 on EBay.  A guy on Craigslist wants $500 and wouldtn take what I thought was fair ($350).  Am I being too cheap?  I'd rather have an Lowrance LRA-1800 connected directly to my HDS but if I can save some cash and buy a used JRC, I might do it.

Russ,
JRC, or Japanese Radio Corporation, has been making a lot of the internals for some of the more well known units (Furuno, Koden, etc.) for many years before they started selling under their own name.  So it's not a bad unit...

If it doesn't sell, offer him $375.

I bought one new for $850 in '05.  $350 is probably fair if in excellent shape.  You have to remember that discontinued items are not supported by the factory for very long any more.
